Chris Jarvis, CFA, CMT
CEO & President

Mr. Jarvis is the CEO and President of Caprock Risk Management. Mr. Jarvis founded Caprock in 2006 and what started out as a boutique consulting firm has now grown into a nationally recognized leader in the energy and commodities industry. Prior to Caprock, Mr. Jarvis was a senior energy and commodities strategist with Merrill Lynch following the acquisition of Advest in 2005. While at Advest, Mr. Jarvis was a Senior Publishing Analyst covering oilfield service stocks where he was ranked #1 by Bloomberg’s BARR analyst ranking system. Mr. Jarvis is a regular contributor to CNBC, Fox Business, Reuters, Bloomberg, The Street.com, and Dow Jones, among others.

He holds a BA from University of Massachusetts and an MBA from University of Connecticut. Christopher has earned the right to use the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and he is a member of the CFA Institute. Lastly, Christopher has also earned the right to use the Chartered Market Technician (CMT) designation and is a member of Market Technicians Association (MTA).

Troy Calapp
Executive Vice President

Mr. Calapp is the Executive Vice President of Caprock Risk Management. Mr. Calapp is responsible for providing leadership, strategy, and management for all aspects of company operations.  Prior to Caprock, Mr. Calapp was a Senior Executive and Asset Manager for a boutique oil & gas focused private investment firm. While in this capacity, Mr. Calapp, was instrumental in launching 3 new investment funds, providing oversight across all company departments, and managing key strategic relationships in the field encompassing operators, geologists, attorneys and joint-venture partners.  Previously, Mr. Calapp was the Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Logix Properties. Logix is a fully integrated real estate investment firm and provides expertise across the entire life cycle of an investment including acquisitions, improvements, management, advisory and brokerage. Mr. Calapp has been responsible for over $700 million in sales during the course of his career and his depth of knowledge and experience is a true asset to Caprock.

He graduated from Arizona State University with a degree in Communications and Finance, and has completed graduate education at Stanford University.

Carolyn M. (Monnie) Greer
Sr. Petroleum Engineer

Ms. Greer has over 28 years of business, financial, engineering and geoscience experience that encompass all phases of the upstream oil and gas business in the United States – including both onshore and offshore venues from Michigan to South Texas and the Mid-Continent Region. Ms. Greer was recruited by Shell Oil Company to work in exploration and production – evaluating hundreds of reservoirs containing thousands of wellbores – and helped Shell locate hundreds of profitable oil and gas wells.

Ms. Greer has worked for such companies as  Shell, Mesa Energy, Matrix Oil and Gas, Denbury Resources, Harvest Oil and Gas, and Saratoga Resources.  She is highly experienced in prospect generation, and has participated in the drilling and development of many world-class projects throughout mature oil and gas fields in the Mid-Continent Region. Ms. Greer holds a BS degree in petroleum engineering with honors from Mississippi State University.

J. Michael Fussell, Jr.
Legal Counsel – Oil and Gas Specialist

Mr. Fussell is our legal counsel and advisor based in Louisiana. He assists our company and affiliated partnerships in document structuring, review, and creation of various agreements such as operator agreements, surface use agreements, leases, and assignments. Additionally, Mr. Fussell is a great resource for ensuring our company is up to date on industry regulations, standards, and best practices. Mike Fussell is an experienced litigator at both the trial and appellate court levels with first chair trial experience. He has handled a diverse array of matters including commercial disputes, products liability, and oil and gas issues.

Mike earned his J.D. and Bachelor of Civil Law Studies from Louisiana State University Law School in 2005, and received his B.S. cum laude from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2001. Mike is an “AV-Preeminent” rated attorney by the venerable Martindale-Hubbell peer review ratings for both ethical standards and legal ability. AV-Preeminent is the highest rating possible.
